CHALLENGE
BHP required the replacement of multiple end-of-life LV VVVF drives and UPS systems at Whaleback during a tightly constrained shutdown period. The work needed to be completed within a dynamic environment, with shifting deadlines and limited operational windows, leaving no room for delays or rework.

Eminence Energy were engaged for technical and commissioning support to BHP, overseeing the replacement of the VVVF drives and UPS units while coordinating with all contractors involved. Our team provided commissioning, testing, troubleshooting and completions support to ensure each system was installed correctly and met operational and compliance requirements before handover.
RESULTS
The upgrade was successfully delivered within the shutdown window, restoring reliability to critical electrical systems and ensuring seamless recommissioning.
